In 2020, an idea was born. Seasoned entrepreneurs and investors, Annie Lamont and Alison Malloy, founded Tidal River with the hope of adding more women to early-stage companies’ cap tables. Over the course of three years and six pitch events, members of the community made investments into eight companies.
Galia Gichon and Chris Gelnaw knew it was time to launch a fund - one designed to educate and empower more cautious women investors to explore deal economics, research companies and their competition, and invest in a variety of companies as a community of like-minded investors.
With the support of CTNext and two institutional investors, they developed the framework to launch the $1,075,000 fund.
